Galapagos Sea Lions and Fur Seals can be found sunbathing on any shore line. Sometimes there were so many, we had to step over them. The females and pups are very friendly and reminded me of Labradors. However, the bulls can be very aggressive. One day I was watching a baby nurse when a large bull, who must have weighed 500 lbs., charged me. I froze. Within seconds we were face to face. I could smell his breath and see the coarseness of his whiskers. Abruptly, he dropped to the sand, investigated my sneakers and left. To my suprise, my pants were still dry.
